Perinatal Mental Health

Perinatal mental health is a growing area of demand for supports in the Society’s prevention and early intervention work including supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of women; screening and assessing for psychosocial factors impacting mental health; assessing the mother-child interaction including the wellbeing of both mother and child.

With the assistance of trained staff a client can expect a perinatal mental health care approach that is culturally responsive and family centred, including collaborative decision making with the woman and her family, with their consent.
