Our much-loved Board Advisor, Life Member and volunteer, Phil Gatens, has been nominated for the Westfield Local Heroes Grant, recognising his outstanding dedication to the Caroline Chisholm Society and the families we serve.

For more than 12 years, Phil has generously volunteered his time, expertise and leadership to help strengthen our organisation and support pregnant women, parents, infants and young children experiencing hardship.

Now it’s our turn to support Phil.

If Phil receives enough votes, Caroline Chisholm Society could receive $20,000 in funding to continue providing: Family support services and material aid for families facing hardship.

“I am honoured to have been nominated for the Westfield Local Heroes Grant. For the past 12 years, I have volunteered as a Board Member of the Caroline Chisholm Society, supporting families experiencing hardship from pregnancy through to early childhood.

Supporting Caroline Chisholm has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Throughout this time, I have also faced my own battle with cancer, and contributing to an organisation that supports vulnerable families has given me a strong sense of purpose.”
